Ms. Tina Chivers is a School to Community teacher with the District School Board of Niagara, based at A.N. Myer Secondary School in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Ms. Chivers teaches regular and special education classes. One of her regular education students, Hardi Patel, wrote the poem “Justyce’s I Am From Poem,” based on a character in Nic Stone’s book Dear Martin, which was submitted to the I Am From website and subsequently published in their African American Registry, Fall 2022.

Ms. Chivers also spends time teaching her special needs students to express themselves through poetry. Four of her students submitted poems to the Niagara Falls Poetry Project website. Three are acrostic poems, whilst the fourth is a modified haiku. Links to these poems can be found below.
